Anheuser-Busch Sends More Than 100,000 Cans Of Water To Help West Virginia Flood Victims

Charleston, West Virginia (June 28, 2016) – This week, Anheuser-Busch will deliver more than 100,000 cans of safe, clean drinking water to assist victims of severe storms and flooding across West Virginia. The water was shipped from Anheuser-Busch's Cartersville, Georgia brewery to local wholesalers Proud Eagle (South Charleston) and The American Beer Company (Smoot). From there, the water will be distributed with the American Red Cross for those recovering from deadly storms across West Virginia.

“Anheuser-Busch has a longstanding history of supporting the Red Cross in their disaster relief efforts,” said Sarah Schilling, Sr. Brewmaster of Anheuser-Busch's Cartersville brewery. “We are proud to be part of that tradition of providing water and supplies to those affected by natural disasters nationwide.”

Earlier this month, Anheuser-Busch sent more than 150,000 cans of emergency drinking water to Texas in support of Red Cross relief efforts following historic flooding across the state.

Helping communities cope with disasters has been an Anheuser-Busch tradition since 1906 when Adolphus Busch made a donation to the Red Cross for victims of the San Francisco earthquake. Today, in addition to providing monetary support as a member of the Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program, Anheuser-Busch packages emergency drinking water and works with the Red Cross and other emergency relief organizations for distribution to those in need.
