Anheuser-Busch Sends More Than 100,000 Cans Of Water To Aid California Wildfire Relief

Bakersfield, California (June 30, 2016) – Anheuser-Busch is partnering with the American Red Cross to deliver more than 100,000 cans of emergency drinking water to residents and relief workers battling a series of wildfires in the Lake Isabella area. The water is scheduled to arrive at local Anheuser-Busch wholesaler Advance Beverage Co early next week, and will be distributed with the Red Cross to those affected by and battling the Erskine fire.

“Anheuser-Busch is committed to supporting local communities,” said Luis Cayo, Senior General Manager of Anheuser-Busch's Los Angeles brewery. “We see our local community hurting and we want to help our neighbors however we can. This is one way Anheuser-Busch can be a good steward of our resources.”

Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch has donated more than 74 million cans of emergency drinking water following natural and other disasters. Earlier this week, Anheuser-Busch sent more than 100,000 cans of emergency drinking water to assist flood relief efforts in West Virginia.

Helping communities cope with disasters has been an Anheuser-Busch tradition since 1906 when Adolphus Busch made a donation to the Red Cross for victims of the San Francisco earthquake. Today, in addition to providing monetary support as a member of the Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program, Anheuser-Busch packages emergency drinking water and works with the Red Cross and other emergency relief organizations for distribution to those in need.
