The Man Behind the Foals: John Soto of Warm Springs Ranch

If you've ever wanted a peek into the stalls of the ever-adorable Budweiser Clydesdale foals, look no further than two recent stories on Warm Springs Ranch and its manager, John Soto.

Last week, Soto – who manages the premier breeding facility of the Budweiser Clydesdales in Boonville, Mo. – was featured in two stories from KSDK-TV (NBC) in St. Louis: one on what his job entails and the other on how the foals come into the world.

While Soto playfully calls himself a “midwife,” his job is much more than bringing the newest Budweiser Clydesdales into the world. Soto is responsible for overseeing the breeding operations and continual care of each foal, mare and stallion at Warm Springs Ranch.

Soto said to KSDK: "At the end of the day, when those babies come out…and just watching the babies grow up, you can't beat that."
