Anheuser-Busch Donates More Than 100,000 Cans Of Water To Those Affected By Record Rainfall And Severe Flooding In Houston
HOUSTON, TX (April 20, 2016) – Anheuser-Busch is providing 102,888 cans of clean drinking water to victims of this week's severe flooding in Houston. Communities throughout Harris and Waller Counties are in dire need of fresh water as they recover from widespread, surging floodwaters caused by significant rainfall across the Houston region.
On Friday, a truckload of emergency canned drinking water will arrive in Houston from Anheuser-Busch's brewery in Cartersville, GA. Local Anheuser-Busch wholesaler Silver Eagle Distributors will oversee delivery to the Greater Houston Chapter of the American Red Cross and the water will be distributed to those recovering from the flooding.
“We take a lot of pride in being a part of the Houston community,” said Peter Roberts, general manager of Anheuser-Busch's Houston brewery. “When disaster strikes, it impacts all of us in the Houston area personally, and donating water is just one way Anheuser-Busch and our local wholesalers can make a difference in the communities in which we work and live.”
Anheuser-Busch has a long history of supporting communities during difficult times including recent canned water donations to those impacted by flooding in Mississippi, victims of tornadoes in Southeastern Louisiana and residents of Flint, MI combatting their own water crisis. Philanthropy continues to be a core pillar of Anheuser-Busch as their history of giving extends back to the 1906 San Francisco earthquake.
