Georgia Craft Brewers Guild Goes ‘Behind the Scenes' at Cartersville Brewery

In late December, the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Cartersville hosted the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild for a tour of the brewery and tasting. Led by A-B brewmaster Travis Moore, the group included 50 brewers from 15 different craft breweries including Sweetwater, Terrapin and Coastal Empire. The group toured the entire brewing process at Cartersville, from grains unloading to the brew house, fermenting and tasting fresh Budweiser in finishing.

“I jumped at the opportunity to share my passion for brewing high-quality, great-tasting beers with such a large group of equally passionate brewers. Everyone was very excited to be at our brewery and to see how we brew beer at this scale while maintaining quality and consistency,” said Travis Moore, brewmaster, Cartersville brewery.

Some highlights of the tour included discussing our yeast management, heat recovery and reuse technology and beechwood chip aging. When they tasted the fresh Budweiser off the finishing tanks, many commented that it was "the best they have ever had."

“From my perspective, everyone left with respect for what we do and better understanding that we are a world-class, high-quality, efficient brewery that also incorporates sustainability efforts through the process,” said Moore.
