BUD LIGHT INVITES TAILGATERS TO GET A KICK OUT OF RECYCLING

BUD LIGHT INVITES TAILGATERS TO GET A KICK OUT OF RECYCLING

Today is America Recycles Day, and Bud Light wants to remind adults across the country that when it comes to recycling, every can counts.  America Recycles Day (Nov. 15) is the only nationally recognized day dedicated to the promotion of recycling in the United States.

To share the message, Bud Light created a 21-foot tall field goal, constructed from 102 blocks of crushed aluminum cans, that is traveling to NFL tailgates across the country.  The massive field goal is the centerpiece of the Bud Light Recycling Zone, which was created to demonstrate the impact of recycling.  By providing one empty aluminum can, fans 21 and older can show off their kicking skills by attempting a field goal to win a prize.

"Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light have long been committed to recycling and encouraging adults to make the right choice when disposing of their empty beverage containers," said Kathy Casso, vice president of corporate social responsibility for Anheuser-Busch.  "The Bud Light Recycling Zone is a fun way to promote recycling with NFL fans across the country."

Recycling is a key part of Bud Light's Good Sport program that also encourages fans to be respectful of others, to drink responsibly and always have a safe ride home.  The Bud Light Recycling Zone is an interactive traveling display that brings fans face-to-face with the importance of recycling.  The 5,770-lbs display is on a tour of five NFL cities.  Visits to other NFL cities are being planned for the 2012 regular season.  In addition to the Recycling Zone, Bud Light representatives roam throughout the tailgate areas to encourage fans to recycle with games and fun activities.

"We want to thank Bud Light for helping spread the word about America Recycles Day and for bringing this important message to life for NFL fans," said Matthew M. McKenna, president and CEO, Keep America Beautiful, Inc.  "No matter where you are enjoying the big game, you should always make recycling part of your game plan."

Anheuser-Busch is an official sponsor of America Recycles Day, which is organized annually by national nonprofit Keep America Beautiful, to promote the importance of recycling.  The brewer is one of the founding partners of the organization.
