Anheuser-Busch's Warm Springs Ranch Opens its Gates for the 2015 Season
The premier breeding facility for the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales opens March 21
BOONVILLE, Mo. (March 20, 2015) – Warm Springs Ranch, the homestead of 70 Budweiser Clydesdales, is ready to open its gates to visitors on Saturday, March 21. As the premier breeding facility for the world-famous hitch teams, Warm Springs Ranch gives visitors the exclusive opportunity to get up close and personal with foals, mares and future Budweiser Clydesdales that proudly pull the classic red hitch.
Continuing its tradition of playing a role in Budweiser's Super Bowl commercials, this family-friendly attraction was proud to welcome its first foal of the year – Arizona – during the Super Bowl, just prior to the debut of Budweiser's “Lost Dog” ad. The past two Budweiser Super Bowl commercials have either featured or were inspired by Warm Springs Ranch. 2014's “Puppy Love” was inspired by real-life interactions handlers have seen at the ranch between Budweiser Clydesdales and gold Labrador puppies, and 2013's “Brotherhood” was partially filmed at the ranch.
“Opening the ranch to guest of all ages from across the Midwest and beyond gives us a chance to showcase where the Clydesdales take their first steps to being Budweiser's worldwide ambassadors of quality,” said John Soto, supervisor of Warm Springs Ranch. “For more than 80 years, the Budweiser Clydesdales have been a symbol of Budweiser's rich heritage, and we're proud to be a part of their ongoing legacy by creating the next generation of hitch team members.”
The ranch sits on 300-plus acres of land, allowing the Budweiser Clydesdales plenty of room to exercise and roam. Warm Springs Ranch features a 25,000-square-foot breeding barn with a veterinary lab and 10 pastures, each with a customized, walk-in shelter and free-flowing water dispensers. Dedicated staff is on-site around the clock to ensure the baby Clydesdales are welcomed into the world in comfort and safety. Ranch staff expects around 25 foals will be born this year.
“The excitement consumers share when they see the Budweiser Clydesdale hitch team march in a parade is equally matched when visitors see the foals at Warm Springs Ranch that may be a part of a hitch team in the future,” said Jeff Knapper, general manager for Clydesdale Operations. “The team at Warm Springs Ranch takes great care to make sure our Clydesdales get the best start possible. It's a special process.”
Warm Springs Ranch offers twice-daily tours every day except for Wednesday, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The tour costs $10 per person and lasts one-and-a-half hours. In addition, the ranch offers a VIP tour once a day, allowing guests to climb aboard a custom-built vehicle to enjoy a private excursion on the 300-plus acres and meet with a Budweiser Clydesdale handler. This VIP tour also includes time in the pastures with the Budweiser Clydesdales, plus samples of Anheuser-Busch beers for adult guests 21 and older at the end of the tour and a photo opportunity with a world famous Budweiser Clydesdales. A VIP tour – which can accommodate up to 16 guests – has a flat fee of $500, no matter the number of guests on the tour.
