Anheuser-Busch and Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity Partner for Home Building Effort

As part of its commitment to economic development, more than 200 Anheuser-Busch employees and wholesalers are working with Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity on Nov. 7 to help build exterior and interior walls that will be used for homes for deserving local families.

The Anheuser-Busch Foundation is also donating $50,000 to help fund Dallas Habitat's Dream Dallas Initiative.  Dream Dallas is Habitat's initiative to invest $100 million in Dallas County by the end of 2014 to revitalize impoverished neighborhoods that need it most.

Local wholesaler Ben E. Keith also is donating $5,000 and will be encouraging other wholesalers to support the effort.

Anheuser-Busch and its wholesalers have traveled to Dallas from across the U.S. for the company's annual national sales convention.  Volunteers will be working at Dallas Habitat's headquarters to build frames for upcoming neighborhood construction projects.

"The Anheuser-Busch family strives to make a difference in the communities where we live and work and partnering with our wholesalers helps bring this to life in Dallas," said Luiz Edmond, president of the North American Zone for Anheuser-Busch InBev.  "Through environmental cleanups, providing emergency canned drinking water to people affected by natural disasters, and fundraising for numerous causes, our employees and wholesalers always answer the call to support communities across the U.S."

The mission of Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity is to build houses in partnership with sponsors, volunteers, communities and homeowner families, whereby families are empowered to transform their own lives.

"We are thrilled to partner with Anheuser-Busch employees and wholesalers, who not only are providing valuable financial support, but also are taking action to help us better our communities," said Bill Hall, chief executive officer of Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity.  "Our organization would not exist without volunteers and the financial support of donors like Anheuser-Busch.  Each person's contribution makes a lasting impact for Dallas families."

Anheuser-Busch also supports Habitat for Humanity in St. Louis and Jacksonville, which offers employees and their families an opportunity to volunteer in their communities.  Over the past 12 years, more than 2,400 Anheuser-Busch employees have volunteered to help build 22 houses with Habitat for Humanity.

Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity transforms neighborhoods by engaging families and community partners in creating affordable housing. Dallas Area Habitat's vision is that all individuals and families live in thriving neighborhoods where hopes and dreams are realized for generations to come because poverty housing is socially, politically and spiritually unacceptable. Since 1986, Dallas Habitat has served over 850 low-income families using homeownership as an anchor for hope, change, and fellowship resulting in an investment of approximately $95 million in more than 20 neighborhoods of Dallas County that adds over $2 million annually to Dallas County tax rolls. Dallas Area Habitat is the largest builder of single-family homes in the City of Dallas. For more information visit www.dallas-habitat.org.

For more than 100 years, Anheuser-Busch and the Anheuser-Busch Foundation have reached out to groups in need, contributing to community organizations across the country and touching countless individual lives.  Since 1997, the company and its foundation have donated more than $475 million to charitable organizations, including those that support education, the environment, economic development, disaster preparedness/relief and support of those who serve our country.  For more information, visit www.anheuser-busch.com.
