Made with Pride in St. Louis: The People Behind the Beer

Not only do we take great pride in using quality ingredients to make sure our beers are of the highest quality and consistency, we take great pride in the love and passion our employees have for making some of the world's best beers.
Over the past few weeks, KSDK-TV (NBC 5) in St. Louis has been visiting the St. Louis Anheuser-Busch brewery and its facilities to get a behind-the-scenes look at the hands-on brewing process and the employees working behind-the-scenes each step of the way. As part of their Made with Pride series, KSDK took their viewers behind the glass, to show a day in the life of various employees - from testing the raw materials to taking pride in restoring Anheuser-Busch's most historic artifacts. Here is a look at the unique parts of our business that KSDK captured:
- Glimpse into Anheuser-Busch's Quality Ingredients with Dave Maxwell, Director of Brewing at Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis
The raw materials brought into the St. Louis brewery each morning are the first stop in Anheuser-Busch's quality testing. Each day the crew unloads about a million and a half pounds of raw materials, tasting and examining each delivery.
- Inside the Anheuser-Busch Old Schoolhouse Museum with Tracy Lauer, Manager of Archives at Anheuser-Busch
As the oldest building on the St. Louis Anheuser-Busch campus, the Old Schoolhouse Museum, houses hundreds of historic Anheuser-Busch artifacts, including the first Budweiser bottle. Each piece holds an important place in St. Louis and Anheuser-Busch history since 1852.
- Exclusive look at Anheuser-Busch's Metal Container Corporation plant with Cheryl Rogers, Plant Manager at the Metal Container Corporation
The Arnold MCC plant produces cans and aluminum bottles for America's favorite Anheuser-Busch beers. Starting with just rolls of aluminum, the plant produces more and 3 billion cans each year.
- Anheuser-Busch's Bevo Packaging Plant process with Jim Bicklein, General Manager of the St. Louis Anheuser-Busch Brewery
Anheuser-Busch beer has been packaged in this building for decades. Bevo packaging plant employees perform hundred of quality checks a day to ensure each beer is bottles or canned just right.
- A peek into Anheuser-Busch's Research Pilot Brewery with Rob Naylor, Anheuser-Busch Research Pilot Brewery Brewmaster
Every new Anheuser-Busch beer is brewed, tested and refined at the Research Pilot Brewery. From Shock Top Pretzel Wheat, inspired by Gus' Pretzels in St. Louis, to Bud Light, the Research Pilot Brewery is the birthplace to some of America's most popular beers.
- Behind-the-Scenes look at Anheuser-Busch's 3pm tasting with Dave Maxwell, Director of Brewing at Anheuser-Busch in St. Louis
One of the most critical quality tests throughout the brewing process is the 3pm tasting. From sampling the finished product to tasting the water used to wash the tanks, the St. Louis brewmasters meet each day at 3pm to ensure consistency across each stage of the brewing process.
We are proud that each St. Louis-area Anheuser-Busch employee takes great pride in brewing, packaging and tasting great beers with quality ingredients that are cultivated and cared for at every step of the brewing process. The passion and care that each employee possesses is unmatched and results in the crisp refreshing beers that consumers around the world enjoy each day.
