Anheuser-Busch
Anheuser-Busch has entered into two separate wholesaler transactions in California. We are acquiring a portion of Horizon Beverage Company's distribution business in Oakland and we are buying the Anheuser-Busch distribution rights from ME Fox and Company in San Jose.
Both distributors have well-run, successful operations in California, which is a high-priority market for us. When we learned of their openness to selling, we recognized these transactions align with our emphasis on urban markets.
Consolidating these two contiguous territories will allow us to better compete in and serve this dynamic and challenging market. We are working out all the details, but plan to keep several local craft beers in our portfolio, pending supplier approval.
For more than 50 years, Anheuser-Busch has proudly served Californians as a licensed beer distributor, and these transactions further reflect our commitment to the Golden State.
We are looking forward to meeting with employees and to growing in these California communities.
We anticipate the transactions to close in November. Terms will not be disclosed.
