California Employee/Job Applicant Privacy Notice 

This California Employee/Job Applicant Privacy Notice applies to the personal information collected of California employees, contractors, and job applicants who are California Residents. For purposes of this notice, the words “our,” “us,” “we,” and “AB” refer to Anheuser Busch Inc., our subsidiaries, and other affiliates (which includes any person or entity that controls us, is controlled by us, or is under common control with us, such as our subsidiary, parent company, or our employees). The purpose of this notice is to provide understanding of the personal information we collect, how it is used, how it is shared, why the data is collected, and the rights you have relating to your personal information. This notice is only applicable to contractors, job applicants, and employees who are California residents. 

How is your data used:

AB may disclose your personal information to contractors, service providers, third parties, governmental authorities. AB may use the personal information that we collect for the management of our employment relationship with you, along with other business purposes. Such uses may include:

  • Administration of benefits and payroll as well as processing employee work-related claims (e.g., worker compensation, insurance claims, etc.) and leave of absence requests determining eligibility for hiring, including the verification of references and qualifications and, where permitted by law, administering background checks;
  • Training and/or development requirements;
  • Performance Reviews and performance requirements;
  • Disciplinary actions or termination;
  • Establishing emergency contacts and responding to emergencies;
  • Compliance with laws and regulations (e.g. labor and employment laws, health and safety, tax, anti-discrimination laws), under judicial authorization, or to exercise or defend legal rights;
  • Compiling internal directories, such as employee directories;
  • Deter fraud, detect other types of wrongdoing;
  • IT security and administration; and
  • For other legitimate purposes reasonably required for day-to-day operations, such as accounting, financial reporting and business planning.
  • How is your data shared or sold:

    Careful consideration is taken to ensure your personal information is accessed only by those who have a business need to know to perform their tasks and duties, and to third parties who have a legitimate purpose for accessing it. Your personal information may be shared for the business purposes described in this CA Employee Privacy Notice with the following parties:

    ·Service Providers: AB may share your personal information with recruiters, pre-employment screening services, third-party benefits administrators, payroll processors, background check providers and others.

    ·Affiliates and Subsidiaries: AB may share your personal information with our subsidiaries and affiliates.

    ·Governmental Authorities: As required by law or legal process, AB may share your personal information with law enforcement, courts and other governmental authorities, and federal or state regulatory agencies.

    ·Professional Advisors: Your personal information may be shared with our professional advisors, such as auditors and law firms.

    When we share Personal Information with these parties, we typically require that they use or disclose the data only as instructed by AB and in a manner consistent with this Privacy Notice. Additionally, we require these parties to make sure they respect the confidentiality of your Personal Information and have appropriate data security measures in place.

    AB does not sell your personal information for monetary consideration but may share your information with third parties. This share of information may fall within California’s definition of a “sale” personal information. AB may share your data with an analytic service provider to enhance your user experience.

    The Process to Submit a Request Regarding Your Personal Information:

    Employees, Job Applicants, Contractors who are a resident of California, have the right to submit certain requests relating to their Personal Information. To exercise these rights, please submit a request through by emailing hrservicecenter@anheuser-busch.com or by calling us at 1-800-BEER-TALK. Please note that you may be asked to provide information to verify your identity before your request can be processed. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. You may exercise the following rights:

    Right to Opt-Out of the Sale and Sharing of Your Personal Information:

          You have the right to opt-out of the sale and share (cross-context behavioral advertising) of their personal information. You may opt-out by contacting hrservicecenter@anheuser-busch.com.

    Right to Correct Inaccurate Information:

          It is important that the Personal Information that we collect is accurate. If you believe the personal information, we maintain on you is inaccurate, AB offers self-help tools that will allow you to update certain of your personal data in our records. You may access those tools at, or you may contact HR at hrservicecenter@anheuser-busch.com to request your Personal Information is updated. Upon receipt of a verifiable request to correct inaccurate Personal Information, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to correct the information as you direct.

    Right to Request the Deletion of Your Personal Information.

          You may request that we delete personal information collected or maintained by AB. When we receive a verifiable request to delete, we will inform you of, if any, personal information we can delete from our records.

    Right to Limit the Use of Your Sensitive Personal Information:

    Right to Know More Information.

          You may inquire about the personal information a business collects about them and how it is used and shared. When we receive a verifiable request to know, we will inform you if any of the Personal Information we can have from our records. 

    Right to Non-Discrimination for the Exercise of Your Privacy Rights:

          If you choose to exercise any of the privacy rights described above, you also have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us. This means that, consistent with California law, we will not retaliate against you for exercising your privacy rights

    Monitoring:

    AB electronically and physically monitors its offices, and use of our IT and communications systems, for specific purposes which may include or activity on our IT and communications systems and network, such as internet traffic, website filtering, email communications or systems accessed or monitoring employees’ activity and presence in our offices may include badge readers, sign-in sheets, and surveillance cameras to prevent unauthorized access to our offices and to protect employee authorized visitors, and our property. In the process of monitoring AB’s systems, network and work-related activities, offices, we may come across contractors, employees’, or employee applicants’ personal data. Monitoring will be done in a manner that is proportionate and only as required or permitted by applicable law. AB will always strive to respect employees’ reasonable privacy expectations. We want you to be aware that all AB employee work product as well as tools used to generate that work product, wherever stored, belongs to AB and we may review and monitor them for the purposes described above. Where permitted by law, we may also carry out monitoring for other purposes such as:

    Ensuring protection of confidential information, intellectual property and other business interests;

    Compliance with a legal obligation;

    Proof of business transactions and archiving;

    Training and evaluation of employees;

    For investigation of breaches of AB policies and procedures, or other unlawful or improper acts;

    For compliance with a legal obligation;

    Legitimate purposes as permitted by applicable law.
