Anheuser-Busch Fairfield Brewery Hosts First Annual Bud Classic Car Show to Benefit Families Helping Families

FAIRFIELD, Calif. (Sept. 22, 2010) – Car enthusiasts will display dozens of vintage and newer-model automobiles and compete for trophies in the first annual Bud Classic Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Fairfield. Proceeds from the event will benefit Families Helping Families, an organization founded by Anheuser-Busch brewery employees that’s raised more than $250,000 for worthy causes in Solano County.

“Our employees have seen first-hand the impact Families Helping Families has had on the local community,” said Kevin Finger, general manager of the brewery. “We hope our friends and neighbors in the community come out and show their support for an organization that does so much for so many.”

A number of local businesses already have signed on in support, including Sutter Health, ASAP Bail Bonds, Clark Plastic Surgery, Dings Bar, Edco Transmission, Fairfield Auto Village, Jelly Belly, JP’s Auto Body, Jim Perry & Son Construction, Matt Garcia Foundation, Meyer Corporation, Rexam, Vacaville Reporter and Daily Republic.

Participants in the car show will compete for trophies in six classes and 11 categories. Registration ($25 in advance/$30 day of event) starts at 9 a.m. and voting by participants begins at 10 a.m. Awards will be presented at 2 p.m. Spectators can survey dozens of makes and models, as well as a number of Budweiser silent auction items, while enjoying barbecue and other concessions available on the brewery grounds. A Bud bottle trophy and commemorative T-shirt will be awarded to the first 100 vehicles registered.

In addition to perusing the shiny cars and enjoying classic 50’s and 60’s music, car enthusiasts also may take a free tour of the brewery and learn how the nation’s leading brewer makes Budweiser, Bud Light and many of its other beers. Tours are conducted Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. After the tour, guests 21 years of age or older may sample beers.
