January 17, 2008
ST. LOUIS (January 17, 2008) – On Jan. 17, the Gateway Area Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society honored Anheuser-Busch as a corporate champion for its efforts to make a difference in the lives of people living with multiple sclerosis. Anheuser-Busch annually supports the organization through corporate sponsorship dollars, in-kind donations and by participating in the MS Bike Ride.
The MS Bike Ride is a two-day event that takes place in Columbia, MO each fall. Since 2001, A-B has sponsored a team of cyclists comprised of Anheuser-Busch employees, family members and friends, who have raised more than $450,000 for the MS Society. In 2007, more than 135 cyclists participated.
The corporate champion award was presented to Dale Pendleton, senior director, EHS&S and team organizer at the society’s annual “Night of a Thousand Stars” dinner in St. Louis.
“Our partnership with the MS Society is a great opportunity for everyone,” said Pendleton. “It raises money for a great cause, gets our employees involved in physical fitness, and allows our team to help the community and have a lot of fun while doing it.”
