As the largest-volume and fastest-growing beer market in the world, China is one of the most important markets for Anheuser-Busch outside the United States.

Anheuser-Busch has invested in China through its owned and operated Budweiser Wuhan International Brewery, a 27 percent equity interest in Tsingtao and a 100 percent ownership of Harbin Brewery.

  • Budweiser Renews Sponsorship of Manchester United
  • LONDON (Oct. 7, 2008) – Budweiser and Manchester United announced a renewal of their partnership, extending the beer brand’s proud sponsorship of the world-famous football team through the 2009/2010 season. Budweiser has supported the club since 2002.




  • 2008 Brings New Era For Anheuser-Busch’s Business In China
  • SHANGHAI (April 16, 2008) – Anheuser-Busch announced its plans to grow the Budweiser and Harbin premium brands in China. Increasing distribution will remain a key focus in 2008 as Budweiser will be launched in more than 25 new cities, while Harbin premium brands are introduced to more than 30.


  • Anheuser-Busch to Relocate and Expand Tangshan Brewery
  • HONG KONG (March 28, 2008) – Anheuser-Busch announced today it will build a new brewery in the Fengnan District of Tangshan to replace a smaller downtown brewery. The move supports the local government’s efforts to relocate industrial facilities outside the city and redevelop Tangshan’s downtown in to a more residential and commercial area.

  • Budweiser Celebrates The 2008 Olympic Games With Limited Edition Cans
  • SHANGHAI (Jan. 22, 2008) – Budweiser, the official international beer sponsor of the Olympic Games, is delighted to launch three limited edition 355 ml beer cans to help China celebrate the upcoming 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Available only in China, these collectors’ cans come in gold, silver and bronze and convey good luck wishes for Chinese athletes at the upcoming Olympic Games.


  • Two Mayors Exchange Gifts of Two World Renowned Beers
  • ST. LOUIS (Sept. 21, 2007) – Mayor Xia Geng of Qingdao, China and Tsingtao Brewery Group President Jin Zhiguo were guests of Anheuser-Busch during a trip to St. Louis on Sept. 20-21. During the visit, Mayor Xia met with St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay. The two mayors exchanged gifts of the world renowned beers (Tsingtao and Budweiser) from their respective cities after an official meeting at St. Louis’ City Hall.

  • Budweiser Olympic Bike Tour Ends in Beijing
  • BEIJING (Aug. 6, 2007) – After a month-long, 11-city journey, the Budweiser Olympic Bike Tour concluded in Beijing today, nearly one year before the start of 2008 Olympic Games. More than 10,000 people participated in the bike tour including celebrities, former Olympic medal winners and government officials.


  • Budweiser Renews Partnership with Premier League
  • LONDON (May 25, 2007) – Budweiser announced a renewal of its partnership with the Premier League, extending the brand’s proud sponsorship of the world-class football league through the 2010 season. Budweiser also will continue to be the league’s “Official Online Partner.” The international beer brand began its partnership with the Premier League in 2002.
