
PARK CITY, Utah (Jan. 21, 2009) — Celebrity sightings were abundant in the Stella Artois Cutting Room at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, but it was the draw of award-winning actor Kevin Spacey and the announcement of the Stella Artois Short Film Project that topped this year’s festival for the brand. The program, sponsored by Stella Artois, will provide a $50,000 cash award to one lucky filmmaker who submits an entry to TriggerStreet.com, a film networking site launched by Spacey and his business partner, Dana Brunetti, in 2002.
Reporters from Time magazine, ABC.com, E! Online, the Associated Press, People, Life & Style, US Weekly and other entertainment media covered the announcement, which was made on Wednesday evening just prior to the premiere of Spacey’s new film, “Shrink.”
After the announcement and the Shrink premiere, hundreds of celebrities and A-list party people vied for space alongside Spacey and the cast of Shrink in the combined after-party, where all enjoyed Stella Artois served in its signature chalice and paired with sushi.
The party capped off a successful week for Stella Artois at the Festival. Celebrities such as Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Amy Poehler, Anthony Kiedis, Slash, Sting and Trudie Styler, Nick Cannon, DJ AM, Billy Bob Thornton, Tea Leoni, Kyle MacLachlan and Sam Rockwell spent time in the Stella Artois Cutting Room and its adjoining space, Tao, to promote their films and enjoy Stella Artois.
