Anheuser-Busch Presents $100,000 Check to Jewish Federation

Since 1992, the A-B Foundation has Donated Nearly $1.6 Million to the St. Louis Jewish Community

ST. LOUIS (Aug. 4, 2009) – Today, the Anheuser-Busch Foundation contributed $100,000 to the Jewish Federation of St. Louis for the group’s continued support of educational, social welfare and human services initiatives.

“The Jewish Federation shares Anheuser-Busch’s commitment to helping the local community,” said Laura Reeves, senior director, Foundation and Corporate Giving, Anheuser-Busch.  “In these tough economic times, we applaud the Federation’s service to St. Louis and its focus on providing food, housing, education and cultural programs for our friends and neighbors.”  

“Jewish Federation is once again honored to accept the generous support of the Anheuser-Busch Foundation for the 2009 Annual Campaign,” said Jewish Federation President Sheila Greenbaum in accepting the check. “The company’s unstinting corporate support of our campaign is coming at a very opportune time…and it demonstrates our shared interest in assisting our community’s families, many of whom are in dire need of services. This year has been exceedingly challenging.  St. Louis Jewish Federation’s agencies, programs and services report the numbers of families and individuals seeking help is on the rise. This growth in demand is now stretching resources - just as they are needed most.”

Greenbaum added that, “We look forward to many more years of continued partnership in serving the St. Louis community.”

The check was presented at a Jewish Federation of St. Louis Board of Trustees meeting. Among those who attended from A-B for the check presentation were Reeves and Lisa Graivier Barnes, associate general counsel for Anheuser-Busch.
