A-B Donates $100,000 to Syndicated Radio Host Tom Joyner’s Annual Scholarship Cruise

ST. LOUIS (April 29) – More than 8 million listeners to the nationally-syndicated Tom Joyner Morning Show recently heard Johnny Furr, vice president of community affairs, discuss Anheuser-Busch’s ongoing support of the radio personality’s annual Fantastic Voyage cruise.  In 2008, the company donated $100,000 to the scholarship fund; this brings A-B’s eight-year support total to $3 million.

Each May, cruisers launch on a weeklong excursion that raises $1 million for scholarships for students attending the nation’s historically black colleges and universities. Anheuser-Busch scholarships are designated for students who are the first in their families to attend college.
