Anheuser-Busch traces it origins to the Bavarian
Brewery founded by George Schneider in 1852. Eberhard Anheuser acquired the brewery in 1860 and was later joined in
the business by his son-in-law Adolphus Busch.
The A&Eagle was first used on packaging in
1872. It is believed that the A stands for Eberhard Anheuser and the eagle represents the unlimited vision of Adolphus
Busch or the adopted country of both men.
Anheuser-Busch marketed more than 25 different
non-alcoholic products such as soft drinks, truck bodies and ice cream.
